How To Clean A Barbecue

If you are like most people you spend a lot of time cooking and cleaning up your barbecue. I like to pretend that my barbecue is some sort of temple to me because it gives me something to focus on when I’m bored or stressed out. My favorite thing to do when I’m cleaning up the grill is to take a bunch of plastic trash bags and throw them in a circular motion around the entire outside area. The first few times I did this I ended up with a very big mess on my hands but I stuck with it. I learned how to clean a barbecue the hard way so I hope that you will learn from my mistakes.

The first mistake that I made was not rinsing off the barbecue after each use. If you want to make sure that everything is completely clean then you need to rinse each piece thoroughly. You can get at the valve by using a toothbrush or a sponge and you can also just rinse with soapy water. After you have cleaned and dried each piece you should spray them with the cleaner so that you don’t have a buildup of gunk on the grill. After you have done that you should place them in the dishwasher for a quick rinse and you’re good to go.

Another common bbq cleaning mistake is not rinsing off the grill after you cook. This is extremely important because it will keep everything from getting all over the sides and creating a foul smell. Even if you put the BBQ cooking utensil straight into the pot or pan before you start cooking the smell will permeate through the entire area. There is nothing worse than the smell of burnt meat when you are ready to serve it to your guests.

Some people are afraid of the chemicals contained in barbeque cleaners and they don’t want to expose themselves or their family to them. That’s a huge reason why you shouldn’t use soap on the BBQ grills. One thing you should never do is scrub the grills with any kind of detergent. Anything with bleach in it can easily damage the grill and can cause serious issues like discoloration. Soap has no place on the BBQ grill so it’s best to leave it out of the equation altogether.

The best way to clean your barbecue is by using a mild barbecue cleaning solution and a stiff brush. You can get these products at any grocery store or home improvement store. When you start cleaning, make sure you rinse the entire barbeque with the cleaning solution. When you have finished cleaning you can either let it sit for a bit to dry or you can rinse it off with warm water. If you are planning on cooking out that night, it’s smart to let it dry completely so that you don’t risk burning your food during your next attempt to cook it on the grill.

The final step in cleaning your barbeque is to rinse off the cleaner with soapy water, making sure to rinse all of the solution off of the barbeque as well. For convenience, you may want to keep a bottle of soapy water next to your barbecue so you can do this step a couple times. After you have rinsed off the cleaning solution, let it sit for a bit to give it time to soak. Then, you can simply rinse off the soapy water, making sure you rinse off all of the cleaner as well. Once you are sure you have completely removed all traces of the cleaner, it’s time to put your barbeque together and you’re ready to fire up the grill.
